She is also doing several community service projects above and beyond what is required to graduate and continues to help others whenever she sees a need including at her church Bayside of South Sacramento where she works actively with the youth. She keeps a very busy extracurricular schedule while maintaining a 3.0 GPA and taking AP classes at the same time. Taylor is a natural born leader at Sacramento Charter High School she is often looked up to and respected by her peers and teachers.
After graduation from high school Taylor hopes her hard work will have paid off and she will be accepted into one of her choice schools in southern California which are UCLA or University of California San Diego where she will pursue a degree in Forensic Science with a minor in dance and hopefully one day to perform in a Broadway production.
As Miss Black California Talented Teen, Taylor Nelson has a lot of fun and interesting endeavors to look forward to while also making an impact to her city, her state and her country as she stays focused and determined to address key issues such as teen pregnancy, HIV awareness and teens going green.
Taylor knows GOD has blessed her with a very supportive family, great friends and most of all the title of Miss Black Teen California. She will use this as another positive stepping stone in her personal, academic and spiritual life to continue to be a role model and mentor to all teens especially African American girls and boys by motivating them, that with hard work comes many achievements .
